Installation and Maintenance Guide
Pre-installation
- Confirmation of lightning protection category and completion of engineering design.
- Pre-cast concrete base with pre-built ground bolts or chemical anchors.
- The grounding system shall be constructed and completed first, with a satisfactory grounding resistance test.
Installation steps
- Align the lightning rod flange with the base and tighten the bolts.
- Weld flange to base (if required by design).
- Connecting lead wires to the building's lightning protection network or to a separate lead wire system.
- Anti-corrosion treatment (anti-rust paint or hot-dip galvanizing) for all welded joints.
- Fully check mechanical strength and electrical connectivity after installation.
Grounding requirements
- General building grounding resistance ≤ 10Ω
- Important facilities (such as communications, chemical industry) grounding resistance ≤ 4Ω
- The grounding body is recommended to be made of copper-clad steel or hot-dip galvanized flat steel, buried depth ≥ 0.8m.
